Cashless Purchasing
In an effort to streamline operations and improve onsite sales, the leisure and entertainment industry is looking to GO Cashless Purchasing™ to eliminate cash handling, simplify financial accountability and enable faster and larger transactions. Equipping guests with an RFID enabled GO Wristband™ provides them with continuous access to their purchasing power and reduces transaction friction, driving an increase in impulse purchasing.
Cashless transactions are processed automatically with just a swipe of the wrist. GO Cashless Purchasing™ solutions begin by linking credit cards, debit cards, or stored value to unique Proximities’ wristbands. For guests using prepaid cash wristbands, each purchase they make deducts a corresponding amount from the stored value. Funds remaining after a guest finishes purchasing can be refunded to the guest or kept by the venue as breakage. When purchasing on a wristband linked to a credit or debit card, the venue will pre-authorize the card for a set amount, and as the guest spends, the GO™ system debits against the pre-authorized amount. As the guest approaches the limit of the pre-authorization, the system automatically re-authorizes the guest’s card for additional funds. This process ensures that the guest will not purchase beyond his or her card's limit. At the end of the event, the guest’s credit or debit card is charged only for what he or she has purchased, and the pre-authorizations are released.
At any time, the guest can receive a complete list of his or her expenditures with a simple swipe of the wrist at any Account Management Station. When the guest leaves the venue, he or she can be confident that the patented disabling technologies will render the wristband inactive, should use be attempted by another person.
Guests may also take advantage of other GO™ features such as parent/child relationships, spending limits, or default tips. Parent/child relationships allow a guest to place a wristband that is linked to his or her credit card on a friend or family member. Spending limits may be set for any wristband to limit the amount that the wearer is able to purchase. This feature is popular with parents who like to provide their children with financial freedom without giving them unlimited purchasing power. Default tips allow guests to set standard tips which are applied to all tip-worthy transactions. This feature enables the guest to enjoy a truly hassle-free payment experience.
