NASCAR Fans GO™ Fast Using Proximities’ Leading-Edge RFid Wristband Technology

International Speedway Corporation (ISC) Using Proximities’ Technology Improves VIP Guest Experience with Faster Ticket Checking and Quicker Purchasing

Michigan International Speedway, MI (August 22, 2005) – It wasn’t just the cars that were moving faster at this year’s NASCAR Nextel Cup GFS Marketplace 400. Proximities, Inc., the world’s leading developer of secure RFID wristbands, enabled NASCAR fans in Michigan International Speedway’s newly constructed Club Level to spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the action.

International Speedway Corporation (ISC), one of the nation's largest motorsports entertainment companies, has been working with Proximities’ technology in the Club areas at several of its speedways to improve guest experience. Patrons are provided with RFID-enabled wristbands which they use to gain entry to the Club area. Once inside, patrons can then link those same wristbands to secure electronic accounts and use them to buy concessions. To make purchases, fans simply wave their wristband past a scanner located at the point-of-sale and their order is automatically charged to a credit or check card of their choosing.

“The feedback we have gotten from patrons using this wristband technology has been extremely positive, and we are excited about the potential it has to improve the overall fan experience at our speedways,” said ISC’s Chief Information Officer, Craig Neeb. Neeb continued, “We have had some very encouraging results at our tracks in Homestead-Miami and Daytona as well as here in Michigan. Concession sales in our Club area increased with the advent of Proximities’ technology, and we’re looking forward to continued success at some of our other facilities in the near future.”

“We are happy to be able to provide racing fans with a payment solution that speeds up service, shortens lines and removes the need to carry cash,” said Ron Carney, Chief Executive Officer of Proximities.
