Proximities’ Technology Enables Cashless Purchasing and Access Control
Melbourne, FL (July 29, 2005) – Proximities, the leading developer of secure RFID wristbands, today announced the release of its GO System™ 1.3, an RFID-based cashless purchasing and access control system for entertainment venues, designed to facilitate quicker and more secure transactions.
The GO System™ 1.3 release consists of the following elements:
The GO System™ 1.3 provides venue patrons with RFID-enabled wristbands that are linked to secure electronic accounts. Patrons use these wristbands for admission into restricted seating areas as well as to buy concessions once inside. To make purchases, patrons simply wave their wristband past a scanner located at the point-of-sale and their order is automatically charged to a credit or check card of their choosing.
"The feedback we’ve gotten from our customers has been very encouraging,” said Proximities’ Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Carney. “They’ve seen significant increases in per capita spending and average transaction size as well as reductions in cycle times, particularly with the mobile POS device. The response at the end-user level has also been very positive, as many patrons are already familiar with the speed of service and convenience benefits associated with contactless payment from RFID systems commonly used to speed up toll collection on the highways.”
