Proximities Brings In Wireless Visionary As CEO
Veteran CEO Ronald Carney Adds 30 Years of Industry Experience to a Talented Management Team
Melbourne, FL (May 3, 2004) – Proximities, the leading developer of secure RFID wristbands, today announced the appointment of Ronald R. Carney as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. In this role, Carney will oversee the development and launch of the Company’s flagship RFID payment and access control system.
Carney brings to Proximities over 30 years of business experience with large and small technology corporations. Most recently, Ron has founded and grown two major venture-backed wireless companies; Airnet Communications Corporation, which after its IPO in 1999 reached a market capitalization of $1.2B on the NASDAQ; and Tantivy Communications, Inc., which was purchased by Interdigital Corporation in 2003.
Carney also spent 10 years with Harris Corporation in business development and R&D management positions. Over his career, Ron has raised in excess of $160M in venture financing for his companies and has had extensive international business experience in Asia and Europe.
